What Is Eyebrow Threading ?

Eyebrow Threading is a practice of shaping the eyebrows using a cotton thread. The twisting action of the thread traps the hair and lifts it out of the follicle. It’s a very gentle, sanitary, and painless way of removing unwanted facial Hair.

It is a common method used in India, China and other Eastern Countries. Threading is also used to remove hair from the upper and lower lip as well as other areas of the face. This method of hair removal is more effective and less painful than tweezing & waxing. Hair re-growth becomes finer and sparser after regular treatments.

In distinction to waxing, the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process. The result ...a safe, simple, rapid, and highly effective method of hair removal. Because there is minimal chance of irritation, it is very well suited for the sensitive skin.

Eyebrows Threading - Advantage Over Other Techniques

Burn-free method Most waxes are used warm, but can be heated up too much and burn the skin resulting in extreme pain and scabby skin. There's no chance of getting scorched with threading. It can also take off top layers of healthy skin.

No wrinkle/saggy skin when you wax you not only pull the hair but also pull on the skin which is very delicate and after a while it will become saggy, because a layer of skin is removed during each session of wax.

Sensitive Skin The skin around the eyes is thin, soft and sensitive and can get easily irritated from waxing rather it won’t bother other body area. Threading eyebrows is a true skin saver for hair removal in the eye area.

Good with Retin-A Threading eyebrows doesn’t remove the top layer of skin like waxing. So even people that use Retin-A or take other medications that conflict with waxing, can still get threading.

Hair Growth Hairs don’t grow as fast or thick as after wax.

No Chemicals. Threading solely uses a string to remove the hair, unlike waxing that contains resins and preservatives. Artificial fragrances and ingredients are a foe to many with sensitive skin.

Definite shape Threading is the most precise way to remove brow hairs. This technique allows you to take a line of hair out at a time and therefore creates a more defined shape.

No one's allergic to string (Almost). Sometimes having an allergic reaction is mistaken as sensitivity. Waxes are often based on a certain ingredient like: lavender, tea tree, chocolate and the list goes on and on. With threading eyebrows there’s no need to worry.

How To Thread Your Eyebrows

Threading is done using one simple tool. This tool is a piece of one hundred percent cotton thread. One end of the thread is held between the teeth or is anchored around the neck of the beautician and the other end is held firmly with the left hand. The index and middle fingers of the right hand then form a loop in the center of the string. Some beauticians will apply baby powder to the eyebrows before they begin. The baby powder absorbs any oil around the hair follicles that may cause the hairs to slip from the thread when they pulled.
